Cake, Commercials, and Shopping!

Hi everyone! Today I spent all morning cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.  Not so fun, but I always feel better when everything is organized.  I still have so much more to do though.  The reason I have to clean up, is because today we’re shooting a commercial for my video class.  There’s a birthday cake scene, so I had lots of fun cake decorating last night.  Usually they turn out really cute, but I had some major cake problems (it’s a layer cake and it started to fall apart…so i had to cut it into a square!).  I just hope that it looks good for the commercial.  I’ll have to post the finished product, and some pictures tomorrow.

Here’s my mood today, expressed in color.  See if you can figure that one out!

XOXO

So Behind…

When I started this blog, I had the best intentions of writing everyday….and suddenly I check back and its been two weeks since I last wrote a post!  I just feel like I’ve been so busy lately, and that I haven’t had any time to accomplish what I want.   And tomorrow isn’t going to be any different.

I’m taking a video editing class, just for fun and I have to do my commercial shoot tomorrow.  My group is doing a PSA against ecstacy.  I really hope everything goes smoothly because I’ve never used a real video camera before, just the one on my digital camera.

I just really can’t wait to make some new stuff. I’ve bought so much crafting supplies lately, (spending way to much money on it). Sunday I will finally have time to catch up and make everything I’ve wanted to create.  I have a piece of paper with so many ideas on it! Soo fun 😀

Free Scrapbook Magazine

Hi everyone, today is a beautiful monday.  This past month I learned about the new and FREE scrapbook magazine called Scrap N Art.  Last night I read the September/October issue and its filled with some great ideas, like using images from junkmail to spice up your scrapbook pages (but don’t forget they’re not acid-free). You can download the first issue of their magazine here.  If you want more after that visit their website here and get a username for free. Who doesn’t love free?  The rest of the day is going to be very busy for me, but that doesn’t mean there’s no time for fun right?  I found my mom’s favorite 80s dress in her closet….which of course means i had to do a PHOTO SHOOT!  Oh, and I also rediscovered my love of sharpie markers and so some doodling had to take place too.  XOXO!

My First Scrapbook Layout

Here is the first page of my scrapbook diary and some pictures from today.  I wanted the first page to be an introduction page, and I’m happy with the outcome. Today was such a fun day, it was so warm and perfect outside that I couldn’t resist taking some pictures: A pink flower, some homegrown basil (yum!), and my youngest dog charlie.

I hope everyone enjoys what’s left of the weekend. I’m off to get some dinner and settle down right in front of the TV and be a lazy bum for the rest of the night. I love soaking in the last bits of relaxation of the weekend 🙂

XOXO

Fun Scrapbooking Tips: Finding Great Items for $1

Hi  there 🙂 Today, I am very excited to work on the first page of my scrapbook diary (Scrapbook Diary Project).  But first, I want to share some fun scrapbooking tips that you may or may not already know!  I love, love, love, scrapbooking but it gets so $$$$ right?  Well, I stopped by the dollar store today and found some GREAT things to scrapbook with for a grand total of $2…very exciting.

The top picture are 5 colorful felt diecuts, my favorite find.  Then I found these paper strips in the teacher section (kids use them to practise cursive) which would be great for a border or doing some journaling.   Both of these finds I got from Dollar Tree, which normally has really great stickers and embellishments too.  But thats a post for another day.
